Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a family retreat at Cowboys & Angels Retreat located in Mountain Home, Texas. We parked our motorhome in a site that was both beautiful and spacious, not to mention in viewing distance to the herd of West Texas deer that live on the property. Our family stayed comfortably in several of the cozy, rustic cabins near the pool, hot tub, pavilion, and enormous family-friendly fire pit. The cabins were well-stocked with essentials, and we were free to relax and spend time together.

 However, the highlight of our trip was the scenic cruise on the Hill Country River Rat. The bicycle pedal-powered pontoon boat floated our kids and grandkids down the picturesque Guadalupe River. It was an entertaining, exciting and just downright cool experience for our family that ranged in age from 17-70! Complete with a perfectly selected music playlist along with our own charcuterie tray and beverages, the two-hour getaway was truly the exclamation point on a perfect weekend.

The owner, James Wright, was the perfect host; whether it was floating down the river or wildlife-watching at the retreat, he's  serious about Hill Country Hospitality.
